About Happy Village

Happy Village believes it takes a village to make a healthy community. Our Mission is to provide the ethnic and economically diverse populations of Koreatown with awareness and opportunities for healthy living.
Happy Village was developed as a way to give back to the Korean-American population that had helped make The Korea Daily a vital part of Korean American society for over 40 years.
Happy Village was initially started to benefit Korean communities in 2010.
Since then, we have widened our scope to provide services, goods, and financial support for the diverse population that makes up Koreatown. We have been focusing on fostering a deeper sense of harmony within our local community.

  • We have worked together with various organizations to distribute more than 26,000 winter jackets to the homeless since 2010
  • We have worked with Kimbo Foundation to select 1,800 students since 2010 to achieve their education goal in a total amount of 3.2 million
  • We annually organize Love Share 5k/10k marathon to fight obesity with more than 15,000 community members since 2010

Our primary goal is to connect low-income individuals and families and those in need with education and resources.

Our focuses are

  • Legal assistance support
  • Volunteer education program, disaster preparedness program with the American Red Cross
  • Scholarship programs for high school and college students include community colleges
  • To be the Hub of regional volunteer organizations
